CEDEFOP’s Deepening on Microcredentials

Labour market sector relevance, quality and inclusion focuses of opportunity due 19 September.

CEDEFOP, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training, is funding research of up to EUR 440 000 to, “deepen understanding of the role played by microcredentials in supporting labour market related and employment relevant education, training and learning.” Grantmakers envision the study’s findings will advance knowledge on the relevance and quality of microcredentials.

Contracts will run for 36 months. The Q&A period is open through the 5th of September.

The Tender Specifications get into the specifics of what will be researched, asking questions like whether microcredentials that emerge outside of formal education systems can be recognized at the national level, how diverse learning experiences can be addressed in a way that benefits users, how microcredentials are being used in specific labour market sectors and if microcredentials can be used to advance “notably disadvantaged groups or individuals.”
