EISMEA Innovation Procurement Hubs

The funding opportunity will build strong links between innovators and public administration in mobility, green and digital transition, health and education.

With a due date of August 20th and funding available up to EUR 3 900 000, the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency is seeking to support the public procurement of innovation initiatives and improving access to market of innovative suppliers in the European Economic Area.

By bringing together 

According to the tender, innovation procurement hubs could be permanent incubators, living labs or other innovative procurement solutions, and are meant to structurally last. Public procurement is not just buying, but investing, with delivery of value based on not just cost but quality, cost-efficiency and environmental and social impact. “This project targets primarily the public demand side putting the societal issues and innovative solutions from innovative suppliers that can help public administrations at its core.” 

Objectives of the tender include: 

  • Contributing to the economic recovery of the EU, stimulating innovation.
  • Contributing to further develop the strategic autonomy of the EU.
  • Improving the business environment for all innovation suppliers (in particular innovative SMEs).
  • Improving competitiveness and innovation uptake in EEA.

Contracts are set to run 48 months, and will be awarded based on the best price-quality ratio.
