Expanding Academia-Enterprise Collaborations

Horizon Europe seeks to foster innovation ecosystems, with applications due 19 September.

With an available budget of EUR 2 500 000, Horizon Europe is calling for proposals that will support educational and research institutions in taking a greater entrepreneurial role. Outcomes expected:

  • Improved integration of educational institutions into Europe’s innovation ecosystem
  • Improved connection between educational institutions and the scaling of innovations by current research and technology infrastructure
  • Enhanced availability of local talent to support business acceleration and digitalisation

Additional outcomes include improvements in start-ups, ecosystem engagement, youth employability and more. Target groups for the funding are various: vocational schools, higher education institutions, public authorities in the field of education and employment, innovation agencies, SMEs, deep tech companies, the European Innovation Council and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, start-ups and industry, research performing organisations, knowledge and technology transfer offices and associations, students and researchers. 

Activities under the grant will last at least two years, and should ensure gender-balanced participation opportunities.
