New DOL International Labor Notices

Notices of intent in South America and the Indo-Pacific seek to improve worker rights.

This week USDOL’s Bureau of International Labor Affairs announced two new notices of intent to fund improved worker rights around the world.

Strengthening Decent Work in the Fishing Sector in South America will provide one award at $5 million. Improving Worker Rights in Rural Sectors of the Indo-Pacific with a focus on Women will also make one award, this one of $15 million.

While neither announcement provides an opportunity to apply for funds, it’s worthwhile tracking what’s being funded, what the Bureau of International Labor Affairs is prioritizing and better understanding where resources are going in preparation for future funding. We at Aspect Works will continue to track these kinds of opportunities to learn.
