AI Skills Academy, funded by the EU’s Digital Skills & Jobs Platform, is aimed at bridging the growing AI skills gap in the EU.
By enlarging the pool of AI experts and training AI specialists across the EU’s key economic sectors, policy and grantmakers are betting that the EU can foster development and application of AI technologies. As part of this initiative, the work will focus on generative AI, increasing expertise and employability in the field, and provide tailored opportunities to women wishing to enter the AI job market.
Two projects will be selected to implement the AI Skills Academies:
- Skills for the development of responsible AI models and their application in the EU’s key economic sectors
- Skills related to the development and deployment of AI models in the AI Factories facilities
Successful consortiums that apply must be from a minimum of 3 different eligible countries, and it’s highly recommended that the consortiums consist of two degree-awarding higher education institutions, two industry partners, one independent research organisation and one VET institution.
The budget is set at €7 million of European Commission funding and the project duration is set at 3-4 years. Submissions are due 2 September 2025. Get more details at Digital Europe.
