USAID My Education Taleemi Due January 22nd

Awards will improve outcomes for out-of-school Yemeni youth through inclusive, high quality non-formal education.

The ongoing conflict in Yemen has disrupted education in the area since 2014, and USAID seeks to enhance non-formal education for some of the estimated 743,000 children who remain out of school through a grant program with a total of $20 million available for up to 15 grantees.

USAID states that the overall goal is, “improved outcomes for out-of-school youth through inclusive, high quality non-formal education in Yemen.” The agency identifies three related results:

  • Result 1: Increased enrollment and retention of out-of-school children and youth in quality community-responsive, safe, and adequately resourced learning environments
  • Result 2: Out of school children and youth acquire requisite foundational and life skills for transitioning into formal schools or entering the workforce
  • Result 3: Improved implementation and management of non-formal education programs by local stakeholders

The period of performance for grants is five years, using a phased approach to service delivery that recognizes the dynamic and volatile situation in Yemen at present.

With submissions due two weeks from today, competitive applications will be nearly ready for submission. Need a last look from an outside expert? Want a review to ensure you’re being clear on cost-sharing, subawards, performance reporting and your budget? Get in touch below.
