USAID’s Kumaliza Project

Kumaliza Maphunziro a Sekondale “Completing Secondary Education” due October 22nd.

With an expected award of $12 million, USAID’s Malawi office in Lilongwe will fund one cooperative agreement, collaborating with service providers in heath, education, community development and the private sector to map services and address gaps across communities in Malawi. The project will cut across sectors and focuses, including gender, climate resilience efforts and positive youth development. According to the NOFO, “…the project will partner with the USAID Youth Council in order to apply principles of meaningful beneficiary or youth engagement in designing, implementing, and evaluating activities.”

  • Students experiencing economic hardship receive financial counseling and support services
  • Secondary students receive timely sexual and reproductive health counseling and services
  • Students have access to the school and community services necessary to graduate and develop the skills needed to transition to higher education or the workforce

The NOFO continues in detail on environmental considerations, climate change integration, social impact considerations, private sector engagement, locally-led development, coordination, sustainability and more.

Eligibility is not restricted. “USAID welcomes applications from organizations that have not previously received financial assistance from USAID.
