WA Innovation Cluster Accelerator Program

Washington State Department of Commerce announces funding of up to $1.5 million for cohort 2.5.

The Innovation Cluster Accelerator Program’s new cohort will grow cluster operations while driving innovation in key sectors around Washington, attracting talent and capital. This economic development strategy will strengthen industry ecosystems and accelerate economic development.

10 total awards will range between $50,000 and $150,000, and may be distributed using a regional framework of 1/3 King County, 1/3 all other urban counties, 1/3 all other rural counties. This distribution opens up opportunities for innovators across the state. Prospective grantees have limited time to apply, with applications due August 6th.

Eligibility requirements include academic representation and proof of other demonstrated investments, and funding will be prioritized for clusters that are industry-led.

The period of performance is set to begin September 1, 2024, with an awardee announcement expected August 19th. A Q&A period is open now, closing July 23rd.
