Workforce Data Quality Initiative

Round 10 applications are due from states by May 27th, with a maximum award of $2.5 million.

USDOL’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA) recently announced the availability of $11.6 million in WIOA funds for the “rigorous and continuous

evaluation and research activities to examine the impacts and cost effectiveness of education and

workforce programs.” ETA will award up to 5 grants to eligible state workforce agencies to modernize their longitudinal database systems and related infrastructure.

Awarded state workforce agencies will collaborate with other recipients to the benefit of other states. More background information on previous rounds of grants is available here. Current grantees (CO, CT, PA and VA) are ineligible to apply.

Grants will provide funding to:

  • Link workforce and education data
  • Enhance Eligible Training Provider reporting
  • Promote data-driven strategies and outcomes
  • Design customer-focused reports
  • Enhance data governance
  • Develop actionable data tools to support worker mobility

The period of performance is three years, with an anticipated start date of July 1st. Read more on applying at grants.gov.
