Centres of Vocational Excellence

This new Erasmus call will fund transnational collaboratives bringing together local and regional VET stakeholders.

Budgeted at at total of EUR 68 000 000, with proposals due 3 September 2026, ERASMUS-EDU-2026-PEX-COVE aims to reform vocational education and training, “ensuring high quality skills and competences that lead to quality employment and career-long opportunities, meeting the needs of an innovative, inclusive and sustainable economy and contributing to addressing challenges in key economic sectors.”

The call envisions bringing together VET institutions, companies, social partners, higher education, research and others to create comprehensive skills ecosystems focused on innovation, regional development and social inclusion. In addition, funding will help complement existing Pact for Skills initiatives.

The call specifies sectors and approaches, including focusing on climate change, digitalisation, AI, sustainable development goals, the integration of migrants and disadvantaged groups, upskilling people with low qualifications and more. Throughout the call runs a throughline of innovation, quality and effectiveness.
