The Coastal Climate Resilience Program Builder RFP will fund multiple awards at a total of approximately $1 million.
Washington’s Employment Security Department, the administrator for Career Connect Washington grants, is seeking qualified organizations to “develop, expand, or enhance Career Explore, Career Prep, or Career Launch programs that help build coastal resilience career pathways.” Proposals should prepare students, young adults and workers for climate resilience and adpation, “connected to Washington’s coastal communities, Tribes, industries, infrastructure, natural systems, or statewide systems that support them.”
Awards will range from $100,000 to $200,000, with notices of intent to bid due September 29th. Full proposals are then due October 15th.
According to the RFP, the work, “will require people with relevant knowledge, skills, credentials, experience, and connections to employers and industry partners. Climate resilience is not a single industry or occupation. Workforce needs may span fields such as natural resources and habitat restoration; agriculture and working lands; construction and resilient infrastructure; engineering and design; emergency preparedness; planning; environmental monitoring; transportation and logistics; communications and community engagement; education; public service; and local, regional, or statewide government.”
